after a long hard week, a calm night out was in order.
we took the metro into the city and went to e street cinema. we saw the bill cunningham new york documentary, and it was fantastic. i truly felt uplifted and inspired when the film was over and we got back out on the streets of dc. i strongly suggest that you go and see it if it is available at a theater where you are.
we walked around in the chilly spring night air and decided that a nice drink and a cigar, for the boy, were perfectly in order. at shelly's back room tavern, we got a cozy table and enjoyed unwinding and discussing the film.
